The Way to Salvation and God’s Plan for Your Life

God has a wonderful plan for your life.

The fact that you are living right now, is no accident.  God has something great for you to do, and he created you for a purpose.  No matter what has happened in the past, he has a future for you and a plan for you to be saved and healed from the deepest pain imaginable.

To truly understand just how important your life is, take a moment to consider this passage from the book of Psalms written by King David:

Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.” (Psalm 139:16 NIV)

In this verse, God was taking time to assure David that his life was no accident. God had a plan for David before he was even born, and God has a plan for you.

If you’re experiencing torment right now, God can help you.  He is no respecter of persons and has what you need to overcome the darkest of days.

His plan for you to overcome begins when you accept his salvation.  If you’ve been saved before, don’t worry; it’s okay to accept salvation again.  God wants you to be sure of his love for you.

What must I do to be saved?

We are saved by accepting Jesus.  It’s that simple.

When God sent Jesus here as a man, Jesus walked around asking people to follow him, healed them, and taught them.  Most were not prominent in religious circles and many of them were still committing sins, like persecuting other Christians and hooking up with each other.

After Jesus finished his work on earth, he made a plan for future generations, regardless of our past sins, for a way to salvation too.

Say this simple prayer to accept Jesus with me.

“God, my sins have cost me a lot, and now I know that they cost you a lot. Thank you for sending Jesus to pay the price for my sins by dying on the cross.  Thank you for raising Jesus from the dead.  This demonstration of your power gives me hope that I can live a new life.  I accept you as my Lord and ask you to direct me the right way for the rest of my life.  No sacrifice that I can make is enough, so I thank you for being the ultimate sacrifice.  Please come into my heart and help me to follow you each day going forward.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

While everything still looks the same on the outside, the work that God just did inside of you is unmatched.  You are saved. No earthly blessing can compare. No relationship can compare.  No car can compare.  No extra zeros on your paycheck can compare.  The ex that you thought was the best thing that ever happened to you can’t compare.

When you accepted Jesus, God gave you a re-start, and now he is going to help you to live a better life.  That’s how important you are to him.

Why did Jesus do this?  He did it for you.

In fact, your life was his reason for coming. That’s what makes him more than just a prophet and a teacher.  His death and resurrection means he’s also the Savior; a Savior that can transform your entire life.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10 NIV)

So, make no mistake, you are supposed to be here.  You are special, and you are supposed to live the life he created you for.

Just as Jesus was raised from the dead, God wants to raise us as his children and give us a new way of living. A way of life we can be confident about. One full of power and promises.

It’s time to get off the road to despair and see life in a new way.  It’s time to see God’s love for you for what it really is: true. And, God’s love for you is something that no one will ever be able to take from you.

How much does God love me?

Romans 5:7-10 NLT

“Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.”
