Rooted in Christ – Growing In Glory

Date

Visionary.

Revision.

Evident.

Three words that wouldn’t mean much without their Latin root, “Visio.” Can you imagine reading the word Visionary without the root? It would sound something like this: Meagan was a great leader; a true nary. Doesn’t ring the same, does it? The word lacks meaning without its root.

Without spending much personal time with God, our lives will eventually lack meaning also.

Jesus has an answer for this, however, in the book of John.

He said, “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine…If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.(John 15:4-5 NIV)

Dependence on God is his guarantee to us that we will produce greatness!

As we continue our summer, let’s stay rooted in God. Whether you are a skilled nurse, engineer, or a parent, keeping Jesus at the foundation will help us to do our jobs even better. God’s word refreshes the soul, enhances our abilities, and allows us to take part in his divine glory.

When we stay grounded in Christ, we elevate our life’s purpose, enabling us to make the impact we were destined for.

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith…” (Colossians 2:6-7 NIV)
