I used to pray for myself in general.
“God, please make sure I have everything I need today…”
But then God let me know that he’s given me the right to ask for much more, and with precision.
We must begin to pray specifically for what we know the Lord wants for the cities, the counties, and the countries in we live in.
How can we do this? By God’s power. He has given us a working power, and we must use it. If you’ve given your heart to Jesus, did you know you have God’s power working in you? Ephesians 3:20 says,
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…” (NIV)
This week, take time to empower yourself with God’s Word, so that you know what he wants for your home, your city, your nation, and pray.
Pray that God will turn stumbling blocks into stepping stones. Pray for leaders to arise who can hear from God, and that they have the favor and support they need to do a great job.
It’s a lie that Christians can’t make a difference, because the Bible says:
“…the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace.” (Colossians 1:6-7 NIV)
Be blessed this week and strong in faith, knowing that God hears and is ready to answer your prayers.

“Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed. The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with.
Elijah, for instance, human just like us, prayed hard that it wouldn’t rain, and it didn’t—not a drop for three and a half years. Then he prayed that it would rain, and it did. The showers came and everything started growing again.” (James 5:16-18 MSG)
