After the thing we’ve prayed for has manifested in our lives, the hope for it has been satisfied. We live it, and then we are on to the next hope.
However, there is a hope that can keep us soaring.
This is the hope of our salvation. It holds the capacity to move us past our present troubles and current fears.
Romans 15:13 tells us how to unlock this hope:
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (NIV)
Think about the word as in the first part of the verse and the word by in the second. Hope is given to us through our personal trust in God, and the Holy Spirit tops it, bringing us hope through God’s supernatural power.
