Hope In Hard Times: God’s Reason to Keep Living

How we can keep hope flowing...

After the thing we’ve prayed for has manifested in our lives, the hope for it has been satisfied.  We experience what we hoped for, and then we are on to the next endeavor.

This is a part of everyday living.

However, there is a hope that can satisfy us even in the darkest times, as we wait for things to get better – that is the hope of our salvation.

Keeping the glorious promise of our salvation front and center can help us move past our present troubles and current fears.  It helps us recognize that difficult times are only temporary and its promise gives us a reason to keep living.

Romans 15:13 tells us how to unlock this hope:

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (NIV)

This verse explains exactly how God plans to help us.  Hope is given to us through our personal trust in God, and the Holy Spirit tops it, bringing us hope through God’s supernatural power.
