“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” (Proverbs 4:23 NIV)
Did you know that with every beat, the heart sends blood all over the body, carrying oxygen to every cell?
If you’re a medical professional, that statement resonates. The direction you give pushes patients to take better care of their hearts, because their lives depend on it.
In addition, your knowledge of the heart’s value causes you to help people without bias, so they can live.
Jesus was even more passionate about the heart.
Even with consistent criticism for ‘ helping those beneath him,’ his focus was transforming the heart.
Today, God wants you to know that he has never considered you to be “less than.” He doesn’t judge your importance based on your history, your race, your gender, or even your sins. That’s why you can trust him with your heart.
As you start the week, consider the issues in your heart that may need care, maintenance, and healing. Take them to Jesus, and let him talk to you about them. He has healing and comfort for you.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18 NIV)
