When Jesus calls, that’s something special. It’s not like receiving an invite to your friend’s 30th or 50th. It’s a call to something extraordinary.
Consider Jesus’ ministry. He healed people who were sick. He cast out demons. He taught with authority, and he did miracles like no one had ever seen.
Being asked to follow him is the ultimate privilege.
“When [Jesus] had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets. Without delay [Jesus] called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.” (Mark 1:19-20)
The benefit of following Jesus was so apparent, that James and John left their father behind. They were excited.
But when God takes time to get your attention, it’s more than exciting. It’s the invitation of a lifetime to become a part of his ministry and an opportunity to get equipped to make an impact.

Today, we challenge you to think back. Has God tried to show you something special about yourself in a dream, vision, or prayer? If so, write it down. Then, ask God how to bring him glory through your gifts at home, dorm, work, church, or online.
