Words of Encouragment for Mothers: How Faith Can Move Mountains

A Short Devotional for Moms Experiencing Overwhelm

God cares about us deeply without even thinking about it, but sometimes we struggle to love others this way. This includes our children. It can become easy to look at a situation and get discouraged.

However, we can use what I call Faith Moves to make the impact God has called us to make in our children’s lives.

Faith Moves goes beyond a motherly routine. It is finding the courage to believe God for creative ways to connect with our children no matter how discouraged we may be about their behavior.

In doing this, we can trust that God is working, healing, and speaking, even when we are not. When we do our part, God does something even more grand in the spiritual realm.

Remember Jesus’ message to believers in Matthew 17:20 (NIV):

“…if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

This is not just encouragement. This is a promise from the mouth of God.

Start today with confidence knowing that God knows what you need before you ask.  He is ready to guide you with powerful and meaningful steps as you grow in faith as a parent.

Practical Strategies for Applying Faith

Consider starting each day with a family prayer or by leaving a loving note in your child’s laptop case.  Prayerfully create a list of practical things you can do throughout the school year to drive more meaningful connection and open the door to greater influence with your child.
