A Joyful Commission

Date

Do you love vacations?  I know I do.  But the majority of our days are normal days.  Let’s add some excitement this week by embracing the spirit of Romans 12.

In this passage, we can see that true Christianity is anything but boring. In addition to using our spiritual gifts, Paul tells us how to keep our spiritual fervor, making the day eventful and impactful.

For example, it says in verse 9 to hate evil things and cling to what is good.  What does God say is good? For one, marriage is good.  So, if you are married, cling to it.  Don’t let it slip through a crack.  Plan a date night your spouse won’t forget.

Being hospitable is another exciting spiritual endeavor.   If you are expecting guests soon, prepare their room with just the right touches, plan your meals, and make it fun.  As the Greater One lives inside of you, you have the ability to refresh.

These are some creative examples of how to serve God with joy.  I’m sure you’ve got some more great ones.  God has plenty for us to do, so let’s do it.  Join me in studying Romans 12 today, and ask God how to use your gifts to make this week an unforgettable one.
