One shocking reality of taking care of an infant is being awakened by a cry like you’ve never heard.
The immediate response is to stop that cry, but you have to figure out how. Is the baby hungry? Do they have a temperature? Maybe they just need a clean diaper or a pacifier.
Whatever the case, the caregiver must figure out the root of the problem to soothe the baby; the quicker the better.
As adults, we can be just as frustrated as babies at times. Not exactly sure of what we need or how to get it.
Before we seek advice or indulge in that comfort food, remember that we have a heavenly Father who knows exactly what we need.
We can count on him to clarify the root of our issues and give us hope, just like Jesus did for the Samaritan woman when they crossed paths.
When the Samaritan woman arrived at the well, Jesus surprised her by asking her for a drink. He said, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” (John 4:10 NIV)
Jesus has living water for you too. He wants you to start your day refreshed and full of hope.
Please join me in spending the next few minutes thanking God and asking him for what you think you need this week. God is here for you.
