Keep It Lit

Date

This past Sunday was Palm Sunday. On this nostalgic day, Jesus made his grand entry into Jerusalem. Up to this point, he had done a strew of miracles and now had come on a donkey just like the prophecies said. He was the light of the world.

What did he do as the light? He helped people to see. He helped people to see literally and he helped people to see the truth about their lives. About our lives.

And now, he has passed the torch to us. We are light, and God has given us the amazing properties of light.

So, what exactly are we to do as “light?”

We can help friends burdened by the shame of past decisions by helping them see God’s redeeming power more clearly.

We can be someone’s daylight savings, lengthening the day for them by giving them a helping hand.

And we can guide our families in “The Way” so that they can effectively dodge the enemy’s stumbling blocks.

Please join me in asking God for unique opportunities this week to be the light; and when they arise, let’s keep it lit.

“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14 NLT)
